Sally Ann M. Smiell 🇺🇸

Introducing Sally Ann M. Smiell from the United States of America performing at the 2021 World Cup on the Accordion Virtual Polka Championship held in Toronto, Canada. Sally’s attraction to the buttonbox accordion comes from its cheerful nature, bright sound, colorful looks, and the down-to-earth people it attracts. While active with her parents and friends in a Bavarian folk dance group in Washington D.C., their club hosted traditional music and dance groups touring from Bavaria. They always had at least one buttonbox player and upon hearing the instrument, Sally was hooked. Having a musical background she was determined to get a buttonbox and learn to play it. In 1998, Sally attended a buttonbox music camp in California and there unexpectedly met her future husband, Joe, and father-in-law, also Joe. The musical joining of their families reminded her that you never know where your button box might take you!

Lovely song and beautifully played!
